A Message from Our President
Strong neighborhoods are essential to the success of any city, and here at Cornerstone West, our goal is to increase homeownership, strengthen neighborhoods with block-by-block renovations and new construction, and provide safe, affordable housing in New Castle County. In the last decade, Cornerstone West has made incredible progress achieving these goals; over 51 million dollars has been invested in Wilmington communities to develop 330 units of housing for very low to moderate income Delawareans. Additionally, the 244 homes that were developed for homeownership, rental, and special needs housing and the 94 privately owned homes that received home repairs and façade improvements has sparked millions of dollars of private investments in our communities.
But we don’t just create homes, we also help people achieve their dreams of homeownership. From individuals who have rented for 30 years to young families who didn’t think they could afford a home of their own, Cornerstone West has helped hundreds of diverse Delawareans purchase their first home through our comprehensive Housing Counseling services, step-by-step guidance through the purchase process and our dedication to increasing homeownership rates in New Castle County.
